About

London is for Living is a London lifestyle blog written by me, Carla, about my life in London. I’ve lived in London my entire life and still enjoy exploring the city at every possible opportunity. I spend a lot of time walking around London, visiting museums, markets and art galleries and eating plenty of breakfasts, lunches, afternoon teas and dinners along the way.

In my spare time I love to cook, bake and make cocktails (especially avocado pasta and french toast). Ever since I was a little girl I’ve loved taking random ingredients out of the cupboard and mixing them together to see what would happen.

I’ve written a blog in some shape or form for the last ten years. It all started because I loved to write; now I’m interested in typography, responsive design and how to code. Blogs are an incredible resource and can provide an insight into how others live around the world – I love learning about life in different cities.

During the day I work in the property industry, managing the marketing, PR and social media for a residential and commercial property group. I love my job (not just because of the monthly massages and reflexology sessions, although that helps!) because the digital world we live in means there is always a whole lot of new stuff to learn. Occasionally I’ll post a blog on here that’s vaguely related to the sector – they can be found in the Tech Tuesday category.

If it’s your first time here why not help yourself to a glass of iced tea on my virtual porch? If you’re interested in moving to London then you might find this series of guest posts about daily life in London helpful. Here’s me moaning about breaking my leg and don’t forget to check out all my Friday night cocktail recipes too!

The Internet is a community and I love it when people get in touch. If you have anything you want to say about the blog or want to ask a question or two about life in London please contact me, I’d love to help. Alternatively just leave a comment or tweet me and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

Although I love living in London I think there is always another place that we hear calling our names! Grass is always greener and the imagination runs wild when thinking of another city :)

    Thanks for following my blog!
I would love to live in London as well. I’ve been trying to convince my husband we should move there for the last seven years, but he’s not excited. I guess I’ll just have to try harder… :)
Thanks for your lovely blog! -Keri

Hi Carla! You started following my blog so I wanted to check out your blog and say, “Hi!” I’ve never been to London, but my husband lived there for 7 months some years ago (he followed a girl there). My husband wants to take me there someday, but who knows when someday will come. It sounds like you and your boyfriend do a lot of the same things my husband and I do, just in vastly different places. I’m impressed that you’ve been blogging for 7 years – wow! I only started my blog 4 months ago, so I’m still a newbie. You’re blog looks really cool – I’m gonna go poke around on it now. Celeste :)

Thank you so much for your lovely comment, it has made my day! Whereabouts do you live? I hope you can make it to London one day – there is so much to see, do and discover. I’ve been blogging on and off for that time but in the last year I’ve tried to focus more on London and lifestyle. I like the idea of trying to document places I’ve been so I can remember everything in the future. Your blog already looks really professional and the content is great :)

I live in Laguna Beach, California (there’s nothing melancholy about where I live!). If you ever get to SoCal, let me know and I tell what tourist traps to avoid and where you must go. I’m sure I’ll make it to London one day. My husband is itching to show it to me. Thanks for your kind comments about my blog – I really appreciate it! Celeste :)

A friend is actually moving to Laguna Beach so I’ll be asking for your tips soon enough! I’ve always wanted to go to California – life looks wonderful there.

Thanks, that’s so kind of you. I love how friendly the blogosphere is! I’ve been reading your blog and will definitely have to visit some vegan places when I make it out there :)

I’m sure you’ll love London! Where are you from? Happy to suggest places for you to go, what do you like most about your hometown?

I live in the states. Oh gosh, that’s a hard one. This is probably entirely unhelpful, but I have to say the people! I’m thinking I’ll want to make the trip to Stonehenge and see some of the more historical sites, including Bloody Tower. Shopping will also have to occur, of course! :D

Of course! For history, even just a walk round the City of London would interest you. Alleyways, historic buildings and lots of old pubs to delve into.
